Ortovox’s Avalanche Rescue Kit 3+ has everything you need to begin riding outside of the resort. Containing a shovel, probe, and powerful transceiver, it contains the tools required for every stage of companion rescue.

The 3+ Avalanche Transceiver uses Ortovox’s patented smart antenna technology and intelligent position detection along with inbuilt search prompts and automatic mode selection, making it the easiest and most capable transceiver available today. It’s ready to use right out of the box and is also compatible with future firmware updates and only uses 1 battery.

When sending the 3+ Transceiver continually measures which way it is facing and selects the best antenna to transmit from based on your orientation. This means that if you are unfortunate enough to be caught in a slide, the transceiver will select the most effective antenna to send from based on your position under the snow. This makes it easier for searchers to find your signal and reduce false readings, ultimately speeding up your rescue. 

When switched into search mode the same 3 antennas are used together to give exceptionally accurate direction and distance information. Additionally, the 3+ can show multiple victims and flag them once they have been found. This enables you to conduct a multiple person rescue without disabling any victims transceivers, again speeding up the process. 

The illuminated digital display is really clear and easy to use (even in bright sunlight), and Ortovox also has acoustic feedback that becomes louder as you close in on a sending transceiver to remove any doubt about your search. 

As you get closer to the buried victim, the 3+ automatically switches into “Fine Search” mode and provides additional on-screen prompts to help you pinpoint the signal source accurately. 

If the 3+ Transceiver is in search mode and does not detect movement for a period of time it will automatically switch back to send. This protects you in case of secondary avalanches. It comes with a side sling harness that is adjustable to any body size and allows the transceiver to sit comfortably under your outerwear.

The 3+ Rescue Kit contains a 2.4m collapsible probe so that once you’ve completed the fine search you can probe the snow in an expanding circular pattern until you feel a strike on the buried person. The probe is made of aluminium which is strong enough to penetrate avalanche debris without deflecting, which is important for making sure you have an accurate probe strike. It’s design features a larger tip that helps push through harder snow debris, a quick lock system for speedy assembly, and it weighs only 200g! 

The Kit also contains a super strong, lightweight, aluminium shovel with a 2.5 litre scoop shape that allows you to cut through avalanche debris and quickly excavate down to the buried person. The shovel handle is removable for transport and locks in securely and quickly when you need to use it. It features an ABS plastic handle that offers good grip and leverage even with gloves on. The top edge of the shovel is non-slip for easy use with boots and the body of the blade is pressed with a central ridge and raised sides to make it exceptionally strong.

The whole kit is designed to offer everything you need to begin learning avalanche safety, companion rescue, and taking your first steps into off-piste skiing or snowboarding. 

Ortovox also offers some amazing resources and helpful guides on how to use the equipment, but we thoroughly recommend taking an avalanche safety course before taking part in any activity in avalanche terrain.

DELIVERY WITHIN THE UK

We offer 3 options for customers in the UK:

1. Standard Delivery Service – Items will be sent by Royal Mail or similar. This service will take approximately 7 working days. We recommend using our priority service for larger & valuable items.

2. Priority Delivery - With 1 hour delivery window - Items will be shipped by courier & are fully insured. Delivery will be next working day (not Saturdays or Sundays) from the date we dispatch your order, with a one hour delivery window. No more waiting around at home all day to sign for your parcel, you even get the opportunity to rearrange the time window or the day of delivery. Large & bulky items are usually shipped using UPS. Unfortunately they are unable to offer a 1 hour delivery service on these items (This applies to all Skis & Snowboards).

3. Pick up from store - All orders placed on the website can be collected in store.

PLEASE BE AWARE

If you are buying skis & wish us to mount the bindings, you order will take approximately1-2 working days before it is ready to be dispatched / collected. BFPO ADDRESSES

We can ship items to BFPO addresses for the same cost as UK shipment for orders of most small to medium sized items. Please select Mainland UK as your delivery location at the checkout. Unfortunately larger items (Skis & Snowboards) cannot be sent via Royal Mail to BFPO addresses, they need to be shipped by courier. If you are ordering such items please select the country you are located in as the delivery address during the checkout process. This will ensure you are charged the correct amount for shipping & that we do not need to contact you for additional shipping costs before sending your order.

DELIVERY COST & TIMES

Orders confirmed before 12pm will be usually dispatched the same working day. Orders confirmed after 12pm will usually be dispatched on the next working day.

Occasionally, a particular product is not available for immediate despatch. In the event that we cannot meet our usual delivery times, we will notify you of the expected delivery date by e-mail or telephone, and give you the option to cancel your order or suggest an alternative.

PLEASE NOTE - Delivery times are estimates. Whilst we make every effort to dispatch your order promptly, delivery may take longer than the times quoted due to circumstances beyond our control.

International Delivery

We are experts in supplying ski & snowboard equipment to international destinations & can ship to most countries worldwide.

You can place your order & pay securely on our website, all shipping costs are calculated in the checkout process. When shipping to countries outside the EU tax is deducted automatically for applicable locations. (This includes Norway, Switzerland and the Channel Islands).

If you have a number of oversized items in your shopping basket (more than 1 set of skis or snowboards), we may have to contact you before shipping your order to advise the actual shipping cost. You have the option to cancel your order at any time.

We are unable to ship Snowpulse or avalanche Bags with canisters overseas on a standard service. Shipping of the canisters requires a Hazardous contents shipping service, due to the compressed gas. We can obtain a quotation and you can decide whether to pay the shipping charge. Please contact us for details before placing an order.

We can provide quotes for shipping destinations not available at the checkout. Please email us with your requirements, including shipping address & the products you wish to purchase.

We will happily exchange or refund any items purchased from Snowtrax:

> Returned goods must be unused, in a saleable condition with all their original packaging & labels still attached.

> We are unable to accept returns for underwear or face coverings, due to health and hygiene reasons - unless the item is clearly faulty.

> Skis & bindings that have been mounted are no longer classed as new & unused. 

> Returns must be made within 14 days of purchase (Items purchased as Christmas presents, from 5th Nov, are part of our extended returns policy - returns must be made before 15th Jan).

> A completed returns note & original receipt are essential. We will credit the card you originally paid with – this may take up to 7 working days to appear as cleared funds.

This returns procedure & policy is for online / telephone purchases only. A separate policy applies to goods purchased in store, please contact us for details or see in store.

RETURNS PROCEDURE

Please follow the procedure below to return goods to us:

1. Download a Returns Form

2. Please print this off, fill out the details & include it with your returned items.

3. Wrap the items in their original packaging with all tags and labels etc relating to the returned goods.

4. Include your original receipt. (Without this we may not be able offer a refund).

5. Send the package with the completed Returns Note to us:

Please note, we strongly advise that you use a recorded delivery service. If you do not use recorded delivery and the goods do not reach us safely, we cannot be held responsible.

Please allow 14 days for us to process your return. We will notify you by phone or e-mail when we have processed your return. No returns can be processed unless these conditions are adhered to.

INCORRECT OR DAMAGED GOODS

If you receive incorrect or damaged goods please contact us by phone or email before sending us back the goods, stating what the fault is & whether you’d like a refund or replacement. We will reimburse the cost of you posting the goods back to us as long as the cost has been agreed by us first.

If you request a refund, we will refund you by the method used to pay for the goods. (This may take up to 7 working days to appear as cleared funds)

If you requested a replacement this will be dispatched as soon as your return has been received.

WARRANTY RETURNS

All items are covered by a 1 year warranty from the date of purchase. Please contact us by phone or email before returning any items. Items returned under warranty must be clean. Dirty items will not be accepted for repair or replacement. Original receipts will be required for all warranty claims. We will inform you once we have made a decision on your claim under warranty. This may take a little while as some products will need to be sent for independent inspection.

Wear & tear is not covered under the warranty. For skis & snowboards, base & edge damage is regarded as wear & tear.

In the case of repair due to wear & tear we will advise you of the costs before carrying out any work. Return postage will be at your cost.
