Assistant Store Manager

As a leading retailer in winter sports equipment and apparel, we are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Assistant Store Manager. The ideal candidate will support the Store Manager in overseeing daily operations, ensuring excellent customer service, managing staff, and achieving sales goals. This role is perfect for someone passionate about skiing and snowboarding, with strong leadership skills and retail experience.

Key Responsibilities:

Operational Management:

  • Assist in managing day-to-day store operations to ensure smooth functioning.
  • Oversee inventory management, including stock levels, ordering, and receiving merchandise.
  • Ensure store compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and visually appealing store environment

Sales and Customer Service:

  • Drive sales performance and meet or exceed sales targets.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service by addressing customer inquiries, resolving issues, and providing product recommendations.
  • Implement promotional strategies and merchandising plans to boost sales.

Staff Management:

  • Assist in recruiting, training, and supervising store staff.
  • Create work schedules and manage employee timekeeping.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback and coaching to staff.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative team environment.

Marketing and Community Engagement:

  • Support in planning and executing in-store events and promotions.
  • Build and maintain relationships with local community organisations and winter sports clubs.
  • Promote the Snowtrax brand through excellent customer interactions and community involvement.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2-3 years of skiing or snowboarding experience.
  • At least 2 years of retail experience, preferably in the sporting goods or outdoor industry.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to achieve sales targets and manage budgets.
  • Knowledge of winter sports and related equipment is essential.
  • Proficiency in using retail management software and MS Office Suite.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays during peak season.
