SUMMARY

Surf-inspired directional freeride — winged swallow tail, Directional Camber, Biolos x Sweetin

The Lib Tech Mayhem Sweetfish is a collab that started over coffee between surf shaper Matt Biolos and Lib Tech snowboard lifer Austen Sweetin — two people with deep connections to both surfing and snowboarding and a shared obsession with the feeling of smooth, flowing, surf-inspired lines on snow. The Sweetfish is a directional freeride shape built around a winged swallow tail that is hand-shaped by Lib Tech’s best finishers at the Mervin Manufacturing factory. The swallow geometry reduces tail surface area so the board settles naturally into soft snow, speeds up transitions through turns and adds a distinct, surf-like sensitivity to the rear of the board.

The contour is Directional Camber with a mild early rise nose — camber through the body for pop and edge hold, with a longer floaty nose profile that lifts naturally in powder and variable snow. A mild power kink in the tail amplifies exit snap through carves on hardpack and adds stability through landings in deep snow. A radial sidecut and no Magne-Traction keep the ride clean, smooth and flowing. Three sizes cover riders from smaller framed to XL. Board art by Jim Zapala. Black/Gold,

Rocker Profile: Camber

Features

  • Directional Camber with early rise nose — camber through the body for power and edge hold; floaty early rise nose for powder and variable snow performance

  • Winged swallow tail — hand-shaped at Mervin; reduces tail surface area for deeper snow settling, faster turn transitions and a surf-like sensitive feel

  • Mild power kink tail — adds snap and exit power through carved turns on hardpack; improves stability through landings in soft snow

  • Radial sidecut — clean, smooth, flowing arc without the aggressive grip of elliptical designs; enhances the surf-on-snow sensation

  • No Magne-Traction — a deliberate choice to keep the ride smooth and organic; optimised for the flowing, all-natural style of the board

  • Sintered base — fast, durable and built for all-season mountain use

  • Flex 6–7 (Medium-Firm) — progressive flex between sizes; medium in 156cm, firmer in 159cm for a wider range of rider weights

  • 3” (7.62cm) setback stance — directional setback optimises nose float and provides the performance bias needed for freeride and powder days

  • Matt Biolos x Austen Sweetin x Lib Tech collab — a genuine collaboration between three passionate snowboard and surf minds
