In a nutshell: The love-child of a race ski and a freeride ski with exciting consequences.

Rossignol revamped the entire Experience range last year, and the positive reviews have been coming in ever since. Following the success of the 7 Series, Rossignol have gone for a similar signature look and accessible, all-mountain feel and aimed it at the skier who wants maximum performance on the piste, but enjoys an adventure off-piste, in the trees or through the bumps. The Experience 88Ti sits bang in the middle of the collection with an 88mm waist for maximum versatility, whatever the conditions.

So just how does one combine race and freeski technology and come out with the best of both worlds? Well, this is a ski that’s jam packed with technology that’s been carefully chosen to reflect the needs of the all-mountain skier; stiffness and stability on piste, float and agility off-piste. Starting on the race side, Rossignol have added LCT technology, a ‘Power Rail’ that cuts through the length of the ski to eliminate counter flex and keep a smooth, consistent grip in all conditions. Over in the freeride department, you’ll find Rossignol’s All-Terrain Rocker, which translates to springy underfoot camber with a generous rocker in the tip for the best possible precision on both hard and soft snow. And to make it even more precise, the Air Tip VAS (similar to the honeycomb structure that’s visible in the 7 Series) eliminates excess weight in the tips, providing even more lightweight, playful responsiveness. You’ll also find titanal inserts and basalt fibres through the length of the ski and Visco dampeners in the Air Tips that dampen vibrations while enhancing stability and power transfer.

That’s the quickest of quick run-downs of all the Rossignol Experience 88Ti has to offer – but the one thing to take away about this ski is that it’s a real workhorse in all conditions. If you’re looking for something that’ll offer the same level of performance over a variety of conditions, from first lifts to last, the Experience 88Ti will leave you with a big smile on your face.
