salomon-qst-lumen-99-skis-21
QST Lumen 99 Skis 2021

The Salomon QST Lumen 99 is the women's version of Salomon's much loved QST 99, and it has a reputation as one of the easiest one ski quivers going. At 99mm underfoot it sits at the width that does almost everything well: wide enough to float on a powder morning, narrow enough to carve a groomer on the way home, and light enough that nobody minds carrying it. Long progressive rocker in the tip and tail makes it quick to pivot in trees and bumps, while the camber underfoot keeps it honest when the snow firms up.

There is no metal in the Lumen 99, and that is deliberate. Instead Salomon use a full woodcore with their C/FX carbon and flax layup for stiffness and damping, plus cork inserts in the tip and tail to soak up chatter. The result is a ski that feels lively and forgiving rather than demanding, and light enough to be a genuinely credible touring option. Testers repeatedly describe it as versatile above all else, and it suits everyone from a confident intermediate taking their first steps off piste to an experienced skier who wants one pair for the whole trip.

Rocker profile: Rocker / Camber / Rocker with long progressive tip and tail rise

Features:

99mm waist, the classic do everything all-mountain width

Long progressive tip and tail rocker for easy turn initiation and float

Cork Damplifier inserts in the tip and tail for lightweight vibration absorption

C/FX carbon and flax layup for stiffness and damping without metal

Full woodcore

Light enough to be used for touring

Intermediate to advanced

Construction: Full woodcore, C/FX carbon and flax laminate, Cork Damplifier inserts in tip and tail, no metal

Nose / Waist / Tail: 134 / 99 / 116mm @167cm

Radius: 19m @167cm

Available lengths: 167 cm
