black-crows-camox-freebird-set-skis-skins-2027
Camox Freebird Skis & Skins Set 2027

The Black Crows Camox Freebird has long been regarded as one of the finest all-round alpine touring skis available, and for 2027 it receives a meaningful construction update. Shedding 180–200 grams compared to the previous generation, the new Camox Freebird is lighter without sacrificing the damp, confident downhill character the model is celebrated for.

A full paulownia wood core, reinforced with a blend of carbon and glass fibre laminates, delivers the right balance of lightness on the ascent and substance on the descent. The titanal plate under the binding area ensures secure mounting for hybrid tech bindings such as the Salomon Shift or Marker Kingpin, and the integrated tail clip is new for 2027, designed to mate directly with Black Crows skins for faster transitions in the backcountry.

The semi-cap construction transitions to a spatula cap in the tip for weight saving and manoeuvrability, while ABS sidewalls underfoot maintain precision and edge hold when conditions demand it. At 95mm underfoot, the Camox Freebird is genuinely versatile — capable of a full day in the mountains and rewarding on the way back down. This set includes the matched Black Crows Pilus climbing skins for a complete touring solution from day one.

Rocker Profile: All Mountain Rocker

Progressive Front Rocker and Light Rear Rocker — pivot control, manoeuvrability and floatation / classic medium camber underfoot

Paulownia Core + Carbon & Glass Fibre — lightweight construction with reliable torsional strength

Titanal Binding Plate — secure binding retention compatible with Salomon Shift and Marker Kingpin hybrid bindings

Integrated Tail Clip (new for 2027) — designed to pair with Black Crows Pilus skins for faster transitions

Updated 2027 Construction — 180–200g lighter than the previous generation

Semi-Cap + Spatula Cap Tip — reduced weight in the tip with maintained structural integrity

ABS Sidewalls Underfoot — precision and durability where it matters most

Sintered Base — fast and durable across all alpine touring conditions

Includes matched Black Crows Pilus climbing skins

Construction: Semi-cap + spatula-cap tip, ABS sidewalls underfoot, paulownia core + carbon & glass fibre, titanal binding plate

Nose: 136mm (approx.)

Waist: 95mm

Tail: 113mm (approx.)

Radius: 17m @ 178cm

Weight: approx. 1,550g per ski @ 178cm (ski only)

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0777/2746/5754/files/camox-freebird-skis-skins-set-2027-1-top_snowtraxstore.webp?v=1792663554
